During the years ’60, Nardo Bassi, decided to focus his major attention on maturation and packaging of the product, specializing in portioning Gorgonzola PDO, reaching the maximum expansion in the 1980s and counting on a widespread sales network in Italy and abroad. In 1995, Daniele Bassi, after attending the famous dairy school in Lodi, decided to support Bassi S.p.A. with a highly innovative cheese factory, equipped with the most modern production technology, yet keeping the love and respect for tradition.
Today, Bassi S.p.A. proudly boasts a complete production chain from production to maturation and packaging of Gorgonzola PDO. It also has a microbiology and chemistry lab where analysis are conducted both on raw material and end product. This ensures the highest hygiene standards and attention to details during production, and for the final product. The extensive experience has allowed the company to operate in all the trading sectors in Italy as well as in EEC and extra-EEC countries.
The high quality and the guarantees always offered to the customers, led the company to get the relevant certifications and adapt to the new UNI EN ISO 9001:2008, IFS and UNI EN ISO 22005:2008 standards.
