The Gorgonzola DOP cheese is at Expo Milan 2015, and is brought to you by the Consortium for the protection of Gorgonzola and other associated companies.
The NE10 Federalimentare pavilion, named “CIBUS è ITALIA”, hosts 400 companies with 1,000 brands located on 2 floors and divided into 15 different themed areas.
The Consortium will be exhibiting within the Afidop area (Associazione Formaggi Italiani a denominazione di origine protetta – Italian DOP Cheeses Association) in area 29, together with another 9 Consortia for the protection of other DOP cheeses and this will cover an approximately 10 linear meter corner with pictures and a large screen displaying institutional videos and images.
During the Expo, there will be two tasting weeks, one from May 29 to June 4 and the other from September 18 to 24. A specifically organised area will be open to all the visitors who will have the chance to taste the two types of Gorgonzola cheese, the sweet (dolce) and the spicy (piccante).
Expo Milan 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Italy will host from May 1 to October 31, 2015, and will be the greatest event ever organised on food and nutrition. Over this six-month period, Milan will become a global showcase where the participating countries will show the best of their technologies in order to offer a real answer to a vital need: being able to guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, whilst respecting the Planet and its environmental balance. 1.1 million square meter exhibition area, with over 140 international Countries and Organizations involved, and with over 20 million visitors expected. These are the figures of the most important international event, that will be held in our country.
