Figs with gorgonzola cream


Ingredients four 4 people

  • 4 figs
  • 130 g Sweet Gorgonzola
  • 120 g Mascarpone
  • 6 spoons traditional Modena balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 10 g butter
  • 1 spoon chive
  • Terra di Bari extra-virgin olive oil to taste
  • 4 slices home-made bread
  • 10 g sugar
  • Pepper to taste


Place the Gorgonzola and Mascarpone into a bowl. Mix them thoroughly adding the chive and the pepper.

Put the butter into a pan, add the sugar and the balsamic vinegar and take them to the boil stirring until the sauce reduces as needed; then add the fi gs, cut into pieces, and cook them for about ½ a minute per side. Drain the fi gs and set them aside. Put aside the sauce too. 

Brush the slices of bread with very little oil and put them in the oven until golden. Brush both sides with the garlic, only if you like it. Spread the cheese mixture on the bread slices using a spoon.

Arrange the fi gs and pour 1 teaspoon of sauce on each slice. Serve the slices of bread after grilling them. Decorate with the chive, to taste.
