Scones served with sweet gorgonzola and orange marmalade

The traditional English rolls enshrine the delicacy of Gorgonzola and the sweetness of oranges. How can you possibly resist??

  • 260 g 00 flour
  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 65 g cold butter
  • 30 g sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 150 ml full-fat milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of milk

  • 250 g orange marmalade

Start by preparing the scones. In a bowl, mix the sieved flour with the backing powder and a pinch of salt. Add the pieces of cold butter and start kneading the dough quickly with your hands. Add the sugar and the milk, and continue kneading until the dough is smooth and soft. Transfer the scones dough to a floured cutting board and continue kneading for a few minutes. Roll out the dough 1 cm thick using a rolling pin and shape 10 disks using a 7 cm mould. Transfer the scones to a baking tray covered with greaseproof paper, brush the surface with the egg whisked with milk, and cook for approx. 15 minutes in the preheated oven to 220°.
Once baked, remove the scones and leave to cool. Cut them in half and fill with SWEET GORGONZOLA and orange marmalade.
