This year, the promotional activity of the Consortium will develop around the realization of campaigns, events, fairs and collaborations with different institutional bodies for the development of projects aimed to promote the knowledge and the diffusion of Gorgonzola DOP cheese in Italy as well as abroad.

It starts with the participation at the Gulfood, a fair held in Dubai from February 26 to March 2, in the stand of AFIDOP, the Association of Italian D.O.P. and I.G.P. Cheeses, (Hall 2 stand B2-34). There will be many show cooking and tastings scheduled, organized jointly with the Consortiums of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP, Grana Padano DOP, Pecorino Toscano DOP, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, Casciotta d’Urbino DOP and Pecorino Romano DOP.

The promotional activity will move to Milan for Tuttofood (8-11 may) as usual every two years; the Consortium Gorgonzola will participate with its own stand entirely renovated to maximize the value of the show cooking made by the testimonial Antonino Cannavacciuolo, which is able to attract the attention of hundreds of passionate and curious Italians. During the show will be also present another important top chef, Gianpiero Cravero, who will show how the Gorgonzola DOP cheese lends itself to the most unusual combinations.

Another international trade fair of primary importance for the food&beverage to which the Consortium Gorgonzola participates regularly is Anuga, in Cologne held from 7 to 11 October. During the event, there will be meetings between producers and business operators and also tasting activities for promoting the special peculiarities of Gorgonzola DOP cheese.

The alliance with the other Consortium for the Protection is not limited to the trade fair participations but also provides long-term communication plans to promote products with Protected Designation of Origin in foreign markets. With this spirit continues Cheese! It’s Europe”, the European three-year promotion campaign of Italian DOP cheeses Gorgonzola, Parmigiano Reggiano and Asiago that we propose together in Poland, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary. After a year full of show cooking, tastings and meetings in the capitals of these countries, in 2017 we will continue the promotional activities on-site and  we welcome the media and the foreign operators into the place of origin of the product to publish the technical characteristics and emphasize the importance of the product’s values with Protected Designation of Origin like Gorgonzola for the economic, historical and social ambit of the production area.

Lastly, the Consortium Gorgonzola along with the Consortiums Asiago, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, Pecorino Sardo and Taleggio, plans for 2017 important teaching and training activities such as different courses of training dedicated to the operators of large-scale retail trade and/or retailers/buyers stall of food business, namely to those professionals who have the delicate task of informing correctly and exhaustively the consumers during the purchase.
