The forth leg of #gorgonzolatour involves three new provinces of the consortium area. We start in Milan with a walking tour of the historic centre to learn some interesting facts about the most famous monuments of the Lombardy capital. A visit to Gorgonzola, a town on the outskirts of Milan along the Naviglio della Martesana, which gave its name to the cheese, is a must.
We then move on to Varese, known as the “garden city”, ideal to visit even in the warmer months thanks to the nearby lake and the many green spaces in the city, hence its nickname.
The leg ends up in Piedmont to visit Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, an unmissable destination for all nature lovers thanks to the two lakes between which it is set (Lake Orta, or Cusio, and Lake Maggiore, or Verbano), its parks, botanical gardens and spas. Its landscape has made it one of the most popular destinations for international tourism, loved by poets such as Flaubert, Dickens and Stendhal.
