ANTONIO AURICCHIO RE-ELECTED FOR ANOTHER FOUR-YEAR TERM

The Board of Directors of the Consortium for the Protection of Gorgonzola Pdo Cheese, meeting in Novara at the Consortium’s headquarters, has elected new officers.

Antonio Auricchio was re-elected as Chairman with one change: for the first time, the President’s term will last four years instead of three.

Vice Chairs Fabio Leonardi (Igor SrL) and Chiara Gelmini (Gelmini Carlo SrL) were also re-elected.

The members of the Board of Directors are listed below:

Antonio Auricchio (Gennaro Auricchio SpA), Fabio Leonardi (Igor SrL), Chiara Gelmini (Gelmini Carlo Srl), Giorgio Andreatta (Granarolo SpA), Marco Arrigoni (Arrigoni Battista SpA), Maria Teresa Baruffaldi (Eredi Baruffaldi Srl), Nicoletta Bassi (Bassi SpA), Manrico Defendi (Cas. Defendi Srl), Mauro Frantellizzi (Galbani Egidio SrL), Renato Invernizzi (Si Invernizzi Srl), Alessandro La Malfa (Nuova Castelli SpA), Nicoletta Merlo (Mauri Emilio SpA), Michele Falzetta (F.lli Oioli SrL), Manuel Porta (Biraghi SpA), Fiorenzo Rossino (Latteria Sociale di Cameri soc. coop. agr).

Antonio Auricchio: “I thank the Board of Directors for this reappointment. It is very important to me because it means that, in addition to having received so much, I may have made my own contribution over the years. We are talking about a historic cheese and a product that plays a central role in the rich array of certified Italian cheeses. For this reason, we wanted to align the term of the President’s office with that of equally important consortia. We are a well-structured Consortium, and I will carry out my duties as a responsible family member, together with the Board of Directors, which will provide further assistance. We will increasingly strengthen our international vision. The upcoming campaigns, which will certainly continue to feature television, will also be promoted on our online platform, which supports eleven languages. We can do even better in the domestic market, which is a bit sluggish at the moment, and there is much to be done abroad as well, consolidating Gorgonzola Pdo’s presence in Spain, France, and Poland, and opening up more and more to markets that are farther away but equally interesting, such as those in the Far East”.
