This year, Consortium Gorgonzola will participate in Gulfood, Dubai, from 16 to 20 February (stand D2-44, Hall 2).
One of the institutional aims of the Consortium is to promote the Gorgonzola PDO and this event represents a fundamental step in the protection of the GI. Together with Grana Padano PDO and Pecorino Romano PDO, it confirms its participation in one of the most important food fairs in the world, now in its 25th edition and visited on average by 100,000 people from about 200 countries.
The 2019 production of Gorgonzola PDO exceeded 5 million wheels: 5,025,785 wheels were produced last year by the 39 member companies, confirming the constantly growing trend in the production of Gorgonzola PDO in the last decade.
Gorgonzola PDO is increasingly more appreciated both in Italy and abroad, and this is confirmed by export data with a constantly growing trend: in the period between January and October 2019, 18,501 tons of Gorgonzola PDO were exported worldwide, namely 3.8% more than in the same period of the previous year.
