For two days, on September 23 and 24, the Bergamo Fair put the spotlight on the dairy industry by hosting the fourth edition of the highly anticipated international event “B2Cheese.”
The Consortium for the Protection of Gorgonzola Cheese participated with a booth, shared with the Grana Padano Pdo, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana Pdo, and Strachitunt Pdo Consortia, which hosted product tastings and educational activities highlighting these certified Italian dairy excellence products.
The event opened with a roundtable discussion on the future of the cheese counter, which is growing steadily. The debate—which included, among others, Antonio Auricchio, President of Afidop (Association of Italian Pdo Cheeses) and of the Gorgonzola Pdo Consortium—focused on the role assisted sales will continue to play and the strategies needed to promote cheese across various distribution channels.
For the 2026 edition, efforts to attract international visitors and build relationships with Italian and international stakeholders have been strengthened to encourage commercial matchmaking between buyers and sellers further; however, one of the main new features of this edition was the World Cheese Capital. The project brought together the industry’s top professionals—from diverse countries and sectors of the international cheese culture—in 15 highly popular masterclasses dedicated to all stages of building cheese’s value: production, aging, and tasting, through to communication, presentation, and product service. This highlighted the cheese counter, cheese platter, and cheese cart, with the ultimate goal of connecting regions, consumers, and sales methods.
