Right into the third year of the campaign Cheese It’s Europe, during the months of May and June, the event Excellent Tour took place, in Austria, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, for the presentation of the three PDO cheeses.
The marketing communication campaign Cheese It’s Europe was launched in 2015, under the aegis of the Gorgonzola Consortium, in cooperation with the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium and the Asiago Consortium. Co-financed by the European Commission and the Italian Government, the project seeks to promote Italian PDO cheeses in the four countries in question.
Relying on the three consortia as its champions, the project has been conceived to increase the popularity of PDO products, highlighting the importance of the EU protected designation of origin and quality control system on which the PDO supply chain is based.
