The analysis of the partial production and export data for the current year reveals a slight drop in production and a good performance of exports.
As at 31 July, the production of Gorgonzola Pdo was 2,806,700 wheels, a decrease of 3.36% compared to the same period last year and 1.61% compared to 2020. This decrease should be read in the light of the international economic situation, which has seen soaring production costs along with lower milk yields during the summer period.
Exports of Gorgonzola Pdo recorded an average overall increase of 9% as at 31 May this year. More specifically, exports increased by 10.5% intra-EU – with France and Germany the main reference markets – and by 1.1% extra-EU.
