Gorgonzola PDO and pasta: a perfect made in Italy match

Every year, on October 25, it is World Pasta Day, a day dedicated to the dish globally recognised as the symbol of Italian cuisine.

An Italian product that goes well with pasta is Gorgonzola PDO: this excellence is also present and appreciated in 85 countries around the world and can be added to many recipes to enhance the taste.

In 2019, in fact, 1 million 866 thousand wheels (22,394 tons) crossed the national borders, mostly in European Union countries such as Germany, France, Spain, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, but also in non-EU countries such as Japan, the United States and Korea.

The World Pasta Day also celebrates the Mediterranean Diet, recognized by UNESCO as a protected asset and included in the list of oral and intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2010; at the centre of this diet, typical of Mediterranean countries such as Italy, there is pasta in its thousand varieties and condiments.

The Consortium for the Protection of Gorgonzola PDO Cheese suggests some recipes in which the goodness and the unmistakable and strong taste of Gorgonzola PDO are combined with the simplicity of pasta for a day that can become Gorgonzola Day:
