In 2015, the Gorgonzola PDO cheese production reached 4,501,237 rounds in the consortium area, that means 57,699 rounds more than in the previous year, with an ever-increasing volume since 2012.
Thanks to this upward trend Gorgonzola cheese entered the top three of the most exported Italian PDO cow’s milk cheeses all over the world. According to data updated in October 2015, it was recorded a 12.4% increase compared to 2014, with 1,670 tons of exported Gorgonzola cheese.
